ECKERTS!!

 On Sept 24th Monkey and I went to Eckert's with the PAT (Parents as Teachers.) It was an early morning and Monkey was not quite awake yet.  His little eyes were still so puffy from sleep!

As sleepy as Monkey was that is exactly how rip roaring and ready to go Grace was.  She was already in rare form that morning and driving Dita nuts.  It was a nice morning a little chilly but quickly warmed up.  By the time we got there Monkey was ready to go!

At first Monkey wasn't really sure what he was supposed to do, but he quickly figured it out taking most of his clues from Grace, who was a 1 woman show.  She jumped right in and started picking apples like a pro and eating them too.  Monkey really tried once he was shown what to do but his little arms were just too short and he just couldn't quite reach those apples.

He quickly figured out a system to get those apples then he had to figure out just how in the heck he was going to get them in that darn bag.  

So we walked around for a little while and picked a few apples and then waited for the wagon to come pick us up and take us back to the playground.  While we were waiting we decided to goof off a little.  Monkey thought Mommy was so funny with an apple in my mouth.  I tried to get him to take a bite but I couldn't get him to quit laughing!

gave tried to get her hands on Wyatt too for a little smoochy smooch but he wasn't having that either.  She tried like hell though I have to give her props for that!  Sorry sweetheart give him a couple of years maybe he will come around!

We goofed around at the playground a little bit until it was time for us to leave.  Monkey really liked the big green tractor that he could climb up in.  He kept playing peek a boo through the little window on the side, sooooo cute!

It was a pretty nice day in all.  The kids had fun and it wasn't incredibly taxing on the parents.  On the way out we tried to get Grace and Wyatt to cooperate in a few cute picture moments, but neither one would look at the camera at the same time, and they kept trying to pick the flowers when we asked them to smell them.  It just goes to show that life is always crazy, unpredictable and TOTALLY unscripted with 2 year olds!!  I did manage a few cute shots of them hanging out on the fence while we were waiting for the bus.

I went to a baby shower today for Lisa, one of my fellow nurses.  Nothing really too exciting to tell it was your basic baby shower.  We played games, ate A LOT of food and did some socializing. One of the games we played was the dreaded "Guess How Big The Belly Is!"  Of course my dumb ass was WAYYYYYYYY off!  My string was like a mile long.  I felt like such a JERK!!  Oh well that is kind of the point of the game though. At lest Lisa S. (the girl on the right) had a string that was A LOT longer than mine haha!  Lisa S. had a couple of little 

blunders that day poor thing.  I love her to death but she is terribly spazy!  Not paying attention to where she was going tripped right over a cup of BRIGHT RED punch.  Needless to say is spilled all over the carpet.  Now if we had been at Lisa's (the pregnant one) house it may have not been so bad, but we were at her Mom's.   She GRACIOUSLY opened her home up to us because Lisa's house was so small.  To top it all off the carpet was blue, so with the red punch it was now kind of purple!  Poor Lisa S., she tries soooo hard sometimes, and everything just comes out all wrong.  So Bryn ran back to Lisa's house, which thankfully is only like 5 min away, to grab some super duper stain remover!  Both Lisa's got down on their hands and knees to get the stain out.  

Other than that nothing really exciting happened.  Lisa has a really cute little dog named Ella, who took a liking to Calli.  It seemed that every five minutes Ella was in Calli's lap.  It was pretty cute.

Lisa got some pretty cute gifts, especially this blanket that Kelly made for her.  I got some cute pics of a few of the girls too.  It was a nice fairly uneventful day.

Labor Day in Ohio

Since I was off for Labor Day weekend we decided to head up to Ohio to visit Robby's family.  We hadn't been up there in almost 2 years so we figured no time like the present.  Besides Robby also had a new niece and that was a better reason than any to make a trip!  We left on a Thursday and returned on Labor Day.  The trip was fairly uneventful, it was basically just a trip to visit family and catch up.  We didn't do much, just visited family and friends and managed to squeeze in a game of Texas Hold 'Em with Robby's brother, sister in law, dad and step mom.  I almost won but Robby's dad had the better hand at the very end.  We all had lunch together at the Old Spaghetti Factory one afternoon.  I made the brutal mistake of letting my husband control the camera that day and so of course there are a few choice pictures of my ass.  Lunch was really good everyone really enjoyed it especially Monkey!

 After that we went across the street to Bass Pro Shop to walk off the fabulously fattening lunch we just had.  While we were there we let the kids climb the rock wall.  Garrett went up that wall like he was born to do repel.  I was so proud.  He was the only one of the kids who made it to the top.  That's my boy!!!  

Other than that we didn't do much.  We did stop in Kentucky on the way home to pay a quick visit to Robby's mom and step dad and have dinner.  Robby's  youngest brother met us there and he brought his dog that Wyatt really took a liking to.  At one point they were cuddled up in the chair together it was really cute.  I don't think the dog felt the same about Wyatt, he more or less just tolerated him.  But it was cute all the same. Sometimes the most uneventful trips are the best.
